Seep Grid

A word's bytes decide which cells of a square block are solid — the little black studs — and which are left open. Then colour enters through a single pore and seeps outward through every connected opening, banding into shells by how far it had to travel, and burning hot at the advancing front. The whole field breathes: filling all the way in, then draining back to the pore.

Now the interactive part: hold a pointer down to melt the solids away, opening new channels so the seep can breach into sealed ground. Press R to carve a new block from a fresh cut.
